julius - Women eagerly wait by the phone for my calls when the new season begins and Forme has arrived at Riccardi. One of the best selling collection on the ladies floor is Forme D’Expression. The story goes like this, Koeun Park apprenticed at such maisons of haute couture as Christian Lacroix and Nina Ricci. In 1998, she moved to Milan where she started out as the associate designer of Giorgio Armani Black Line. In just five years, she worked her way up to senior designer but yearned for a change of pace. When she was offered the opportunity to work with Donna Karan on her main line collection, Park decided to move to New York City in 2002. A few years later, fed up with the commercial industry, Park set out to start her own line and packed up once again. She chose to base her company in Umbria, Italy. The name Forme 3′3204322896, pronounced “Forme d’expression,” is created by decoding numeric orders that make up the “Helvetica-Fraction” font.
Much like the clothing it represents, the name is about conversion and individuality. Garments should be able to stand on their own and at the same time “evolve, as the owner’s life does,” Park says. Riccardi Women tend to buy by the pile and collect key pieces. First deliver was just received, some items did not even make it onto hangers before they were snatched up by eager buyers. With rare distribution through the u.s. Forme is out little secret, We also seleted some mens pieces this season which will most definitly find a great home in my own personal collection.
We also re-ordered a piece that we sold out of in fall in a new color, its a long open draped cardigan in the same fabric as the 2bt cardigan. This one can be worn in a variety of ways, including upside down. There is also a range of super soft 3/4 length round neck t’s that go great under all these pieces as well as on there own in the summer. I probly need at least 2 colors, they come in grey, black and cream.
The cotton jacket is the funnest piece to dress with though. We had this jacket in wool for f/w and it sold out really quick. We do also plan in receiving it in a very soft drapey black leather which already has many customers drooling.
Attachment sizes there pieces 1-5. We start the collection at a 2. The sleeves on the pieces are very narrow, even in the larger sizes. 2=46, 3=48, 4=50, 5=52-54. With some of these the more fabric the better, its all about a strong drape.
